Soviet SU-76M Self-Propelled Artillery Model Kit
Scale Model of the Soviet SU-76M Self-Propelled Artillery - a legendary WWII vehicle.
Historical Background:
The SU-76M was a Soviet self-propelled artillery unit used extensively during the Great Patriotic War. Built on the chassis of light tanks like the T-60 and T-70, this vehicle was designed for infantry support with anti-bullet armor. Its armament allowed it to effectively combat light and medium tanks, making it the lightest and most mass-produced self-propelled gun (SPG) in the USSR during WWII.
This versatile machine served as both an infantry support weapon and an anti-tank solution against enemy light and medium vehicles. However, its thin armor and limited firepower made it less effective against heavy tanks. The open-top fighting compartment drew criticism but was retained after initial plans for full armor coverage were abandoned during upgrades.
