This solution, by the way, insulates well from the temperature, freezes badly and warms up. The foam serves as an isolate., The sole itself, the rubber tread, remained the same.

But now there are three layers - rubber/PU foam/PU/PU frame, which protects the legs from the sides.
In the second Zone, the Kevlar layer was also reduced from 5 mm to 2.5 mm, which corresponds to maintaining a pressure of about 90 kg per nail. In the laboratory, they even measured 103-110, but this is in the laboratory. :) And they gave a third layer, a shock-absorbing foam. This is the gray stripe that is clearly visible on the side surface of the sole.

Is there not enough Kevlar?

There is a big difference between how a person steps on a nail accidentally and intentionally., In most cases, when someone runs into nails or branches, it happens gradually, with movement and weight transfer. And the official 90 kg for one leg is more than enough. The object breaks through the sole and foam, is slowed down by friction and meets Kevlar, which either stops it completely, or bends it and takes it to the side. During this time, a person has time to understand that something is wrong. And he certainly won't jump on this leg and on this nail. In the case of intentional piercing, the person steps exactly from top to bottom and presses/jumps/turns with the transfer of weight on one leg., If he tries hard, he can break through. The first-generation models still have a certified protection of 140 kg per leg, for those who definitely need it. For those people for whom this is not relevant and 90 kg is enough just in case, there will be a second Green Zone
